The Rawnsley Park Station eco villas provide luxurious accommodation while being environmentally-friendly. The use of rendered straw bale construction and solar power achieve excellent energy efficiency. The villas are carefully sited amongst hopbush and cypress pines on a secluded ridgeline. Their part elevation on a suspended slab enables the villas to capture close views of the surrounding vegetation and maximise the vistas of the ranges beyond. The deep window reveals created by the straw bale walls appear to frame and accentuate these views and succeeds in bringing a slice of the outside in. The central placement of the bedroom creates a secluded space that enables guests to draw back the doors and enjoy the spectacular mountain views in complete privacy. Perhaps the most innovative design feature of the villas is the retractable fabric ceiling and roof skylights in the bedroom that enable guests to view the night stars. Careful aesthetic choices of timber flooring and contemporary furnishing and fittings complete a sense of luxury and indulgence in the outback.

The Arkapena homestead has been extensively renovated and recently opened to provide luxury accommodation with a private pool and superb views of Wilpena Pound and the Chace Range.
